An Important Note for Kolkata Clients

Bengal has its own astrological conventions, and it is worth being clear about how a consultation here differs.

Sundeep Kochar practises the North Indian Vedic system — Parashari astrology using the Lahiri ayanamsa, with Ashtakoot Guna Milan for compatibility. Many Bengali families refer to the Gupta Press or Bisuddha Siddhanta panjika for dates and auspicious timing. Chart analysis is not affected by which almanac a family follows, but calculated dates can differ between systems.

If your family works strictly from a particular panjika for muhurta, it is worth mentioning at the outset so any difference is understood rather than discovered later.

Consultations are conducted in Hindi or English, not Bengali. Most Kolkata clients are comfortable in either, but if an older family member needs the conversation in Bengali, a Bengali-speaking practitioner will serve them better.
